Mobility and Internationalization

The PhD Program actively promotes mobility and internationalization, including the exchange of doctoral candidates with other institutions in Italy and abroad.
The research topics pursued by PhD students are embedded within a wide network of national and international collaborations involving members of the academic board.

Many doctoral candidates co-author scientific publications in international journals, working in partnership with researchers from foreign universities and research centers. As part of these collaborations, students often spend several months abroad.
Conversely, PhD students from foreign institutions collaborate with members of the doctoral faculty and carry out part of their research at the MIFT Department of the University of Messina.

Below is a selection of leading international research centers with which the PhD Program in Physics maintains active collaborations:

  • CERN (Ginevra - CH)
  • EPFL (Lausanne - CH)
  • Riken Cluster for Pioneering Research (Wako, Saitama - JP)
  • Max-Planck-Institut for Nuclear Physics (Heidelberg, DE)
  • Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion (IPPLM, Warsaw – PL)
